Itinerary

Our 3-Day Luxury Gorilla Trekking Tour from Kigali gives you up to one hour with mountain gorillas. You will be picked up from Kigali and driven to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and then cross through the Katuna or Cyanika border into Uganda. The next day, you will do gorilla trekking, and on the last day, return to Kigali to end the tour. You can also decide to end the trip in Entebbe. Expect close-up photography, raw rainforest beauty, and unforgettable moments with the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Treks take place in Rushaga, Nkuringo, Buhoma, or Ruhija, depending on permit availability.

Day 1: Arrival at Kigali Airport and drive to Bwindi Gorilla Park

Arrive Kigali International Airport, you will be met and greet with our representative, who will then transfer you to the Lodge in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Park.

Drive to Katuna or Cyanika border of Rwanda and Uganda, where you will finalize with immigration and border crossing processes, then continue the drive to Bwindi Gorilla Park with lunch en route.

This 4-5-hour drive is along one of the richest roads with beautiful scenic views en-route and you will enjoy the driving from the beginning to the end with each area you come to with something interesting to see as you drive by.

Check in at the Lodge and relax, anticipating the gorilla trekking experience the next morning.

Day 2: Tracking Gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable NP

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Parkis located in southwestern Uganda, at the edge of the Great East African Rift Valley. It is home to over 400 species of mountain gorillas, about half of the world’s population.

Many of these are habituated in families that are daily visited by tourists. The forest is also home to over 350 species of birds and 400 plant species.

Tracking gorillas in Bwindi starts at 8 am after a briefing at the park headquarters. You will trek through the dense, steep forest searching for the gorilla,s depending on where they were seen making nests the previous evening.

The trek can last 30 minutes to 7 hours, depending on your assigned gorilla family; this is influenced by the location they stayed overnight. Trekking can be a taxing adventure, but coming to a face-to-face close-up with these close relatives to humans is a reward worthy of earning

Day 3: Transfer back to your hotel in Kigali or the airport

Morning/Transfer

After breakfast, you will bid farewell to the lodge and drive back to Kigali International Airport or a hotel in Kigali.

Afternoon/Lunch

You will have a stop for lunch and later proceed to Kigali ddependingon your next program. If you intend to fly out, you will be dropped at Kigali International Airport for your flight out or your booked hotel in Kigali. li.
