3 Days Chimp Trekking Safari in Kibale Forest NP

Enjoy a 3-day safari to Kibale National Park, the best place in Uganda to see wild chimpanzees. Go on an exciting chimpanzee trekking adventure through the rainforest, where you’ll watch these amazing primates up close in their natural home. You’ll also visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a beautiful community-run reserve known for its birds, monkeys, and rich plant life. This trip is perfect for nature lovers and anyone looking for a unique primate experience in the wild.

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.

On this day you will wake up early enough and have breakfast form the Hotel/your residence and your tour guide/driver will pick you up from there, after a short briefing about the safari you will drive to the Western part of Uganda to Kibale National Park. Have a stopover in Fortportal for lunch and thereafter have a visit to the tea plantations or Toro crater lakes. Proceed to the Park and check in at the lodge of your choice. You could opt for a nature walk in the forest that evening whereby you will see different wildlife species. Have dinner and an overnight as you prepare for Chimp trekking the next day.

Day 2: Chimp trekking & Bigodi wetland walk

After breakfast, you’ll head to the park briefing center for a short orientation before starting your chimpanzee trekking adventure in Kibale Forest. The trek can take 2 to 6 hours depending on where the chimps are located. Along the way, you may also spot monkeys, birds, and unique plant species. After spending time with the chimps, return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, visit Bigodi Wetland for a guided swamp walk, where you’ll see more primates, birds, and experience local community life. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala or Entebbe

Have your breakfast at the lodge as you mark the end of this amazing 3 days safari. After breakfast start off the journey back to Kampala or Entebbe with packed lunch from the lodge.
