Itinerary

Big Five Safari • Gorilla Trekking • Breathtaking Landscapes

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda – Welcome to the Pearl of Africa

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our professional safari guide, who will assist with luggage and provide a briefing about your upcoming adventure. You’ll then transfer to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala, giving you time to rest, adjust to the tropical climate, and settle in after your flight.

In the evening, you may choose to dine at a local restaurant or the hotel, where you can sample delicious Ugandan cuisine and experience the country’s warm hospitality.

Day 2: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After an early breakfast, embark on a scenic road trip to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most visited and biodiverse park. Along the way, you’ll pass through the Lake Mburo National Park area, rolling savannah landscapes, and lively rural communities.

As the journey unfolds, the majestic Rwenzori Mountains come into view, creating a stunning backdrop for photos. Upon arrival at Queen Elizabeth National Park, you’ll enjoy your first game drive, exploring the Kasenyi plains for wildlife sightings that may include elephants, buffalo, antelopes, and — with luck — lions.

Later, check into your lodge for dinner and a relaxing evening surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Boat Safari on the Kazinga Channel

Begin your day with an early morning game drive, the best time to see predators such as lions and leopards on the hunt, alongside herds of elephants, buffalo, and various antelope species grazing in the open plains.

Return to the lodge for a hearty lunch before heading to the Kazinga Channel for an afternoon boat safari. This natural waterway linking Lake George and Lake Edward is home to one of the largest concentrations of hippos in the world, as well as crocodiles and numerous bird species such as African fish eagles, kingfishers, and pelicans.

After the boat safari, enjoy another short evening game drive as the sun sets over the savannah. Return to the lodge for dinner and a peaceful night under the stars.

Day 4: Tree-Climbing Lions in Ishasha Sector

This morning, journey south to the Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park — famous worldwide for its tree-climbing lions. Here, you’ll embark on a game drive across the acacia-dotted savannah, scanning fig trees where lions often lounge during the heat of the day.

The Ishasha plains are also home to elephants, topis, Uganda kobs, and a variety of birdlife. In the afternoon, enjoy another game drive through this remarkable area, offering more chances to spot predators and other wildlife.

As the day ends, return to your lodge for dinner and relaxation surrounded by the tranquil sounds of the bush.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After breakfast, bid farewell to Queen Elizabeth National Park and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The journey offers breathtaking views of terraced hillsides, rural villages, and mist-covered highlands.

Upon arrival, check into your lodge and enjoy a freshly prepared lunch. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure, giving you time to relax, enjoy the cool mountain air, and mentally prepare for your gorilla trekking adventure the next day.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today is the highlight of your safari — gorilla trekking. After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a pre-trek briefing led by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You’ll learn about gorilla behavior, safety rules, and what to expect during the trek.

Accompanied by experienced guides, you’ll hike through the lush, misty rainforest, listening to the sounds of birds and forest creatures as you track a gorilla family. The trek can last 2–6 hours, depending on the group’s location.

Once found, you’ll spend an unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants — watching mothers care for their young, juveniles playing, and silverbacks keeping watch. This is one of Africa’s most profound wildlife experiences.

After the trek, return to your lodge to rest and celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime moment over a warm dinner.

Day 7: Return to Kampala via Lake Bunyonyi & the Equator

After breakfast, depart Bwindi and make a scenic stop at Lake Bunyonyi, one of Africa’s deepest and most picturesque lakes. Its emerald-green waters and terraced hillsides offer perfect photo opportunities and a tranquil break before continuing the journey.

In the afternoon, travel back toward Kampala, stopping at the Uganda Equator for memorable photos, local crafts, and refreshments. Upon arrival in Kampala or Entebbe, you’ll be dropped at your preferred location or the airport for your flight home — marking the end of an unforgettable safari.
